The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the importance and accuracy of cytology as a diagnostic method for proliferative and inflammatory processes in domestic animals.The cytology samples were collected by biopsy or during necropsy, using fine needle aspiration Womens Shorts or imprint techniques in 80 dogs, 4 cats, 3 goats, 2 cows and 1 horse.Histopathology of formalin fixed tissues processed by the routine embedding paraffin technique was used as a confirmatory diagnostic test.

Cytology results agreed with histopathological findings in 75 (83.3%) cases.They held higher accord in round cell tumor cases.

Therefore, this study shows that cytology is a valuable diagnostic method for diagnosis of proliferative process in domestic animals, especially for Umbrella Stands round cells tumors.
